Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Our Wednesday, April 16, 2008 luncheon featured our main speaker, Broadcast Pioneers member Tim Lake, the solo anchor of the 6 pm daily news on NBC 10 and co-anchor of their 11 pm broadcast.

Also speaking at that same luncheon was our very own Gene Crane, just in from his home "south of the border" in Mexico. Plus, member Peggy King talked about George Gobel, Jack Webb, Milton Berle, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Our MC for the event was our very own Chairman of the Board, Bill "Wee Willie" Webber. In addition, we awarded ten $1,000 scholarships to area college students at the this luncheon

Plus, Bruce Castor, Commissioner for Montgomery County presented a citation to NBC 10 for their many years of service to the area. This was originally scheduled for the March luncheon, but Commissioner Castor was under the weather. Tim Lake accepted on behalf on the station.
