Here's four really short clips from Jerry Blavat's television show in 1966. It was "The Discophonic Scene carried over Channel 10, WCAU-TV and syndicated nationally..
There are four excerpts strung together as one clip. They were shot on location on film and not done in the studio. Jerry is a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. Very little footage from the series exists today because the show was either live or when taped, the tape was re-used. Why? Because video tape in those days consisted on huge 2" reels and cost about $500 each. To reduce costs, the tapes were used over and over again. Because of this, very little is in existence today.
Home video wasn't in existence at that time, but home audio tape equipment was. We are looking for audio tapes of Jerry Blavat for our archives. Have any? Please e-mail us.
