Broadcast Pioneers member Vincent R. (Vince) Giannini was named vice-president/general manager at WPHL-TV (PHL17), Philadelphia, in November of 2003. He is responsible for all aspects of the station. Vince was responsible for bringing the Phillies back to WPHL in 2009 following their World Series Championship and for maintaining the station’s relationship with the Mummers.

Previously, he served as station manager at WPIX-TV (WB11), New York, from August 2001 to November 2003. His responsibilities included finance, engineering, community affairs and local production. Vince was integrally involved in the post 9/11 rebuild of WPIX’s facilities and managed the station's position with all the insurance carriers.

Giannini was director/finance and administration for KTLA-TV (WB5), Los Angeles, from 1993 to 2001. His responsibilities included all aspects of the finance department including oversight of the operating and strategic planning process. He also was responsible for project management on a multi-million dollar building renovation and expansion. Prior to that, he was senior financial analyst for WGN-TV, Chicago, from 1990 to 1993. He started his career with Price Waterhouse, Chicago.

A native of Chicago, born September 21, 1965 (four days after Channel 17 came on the air), Giannini holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and is a certified public accountant. He serves as a director on the boards of the Philadelphia Chapter of PAL (Police Athletic League), FACE (Foundation for Adolescent Credit Education), the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and the Philadelphia Ad Club. He also is a committee member for the Boy Scouts, Cradle of Liberty Council and FARA (Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance).

Vince and his wife Norma have been happily married for 23 years and reside in Media, Pa along with their three teenage children Joe, Nicole and Michelle.
