In December 1996, WPHT Radio launched a TV ad campaign to get listeners to tune into "Imus in the Morning." The approach was simple. Tell the people NOT TO LISTEN. The idea, of course was that they would.
Roy Shapiro is one of the main forces behind KYW Newsradio (GM and VP) and is a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. In 1995, Shapiro was honored by our organization as PERSON OF THE YEAR and was inducted into our Hall of Fame in June 2003.
