John Ogden, winner of NBC10’s “Best Summer Gig Ever” contest, officially joined the NBC 10 team full-time in September 2003 as a traffic reporter.

Prior to his arrival at NBC10, Ogden was a student at La Salle University in Philadelphia. He was a creator, editor, and reporter for La Salle’s first all-news program and was also an active member of the university’s theatre group.

Ogden graduated from La Salle in May 2003 with a degree in Communications, emphasis on Mass Media Writing and Mass Communication. He was hired as a production assistant at Fox 29 Philadelphia, where he had interned his junior and senior year of college. Ogden is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Ogden was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and attended Roman Catholic High School. He is very excited to be staying in the Philadelphia area. "Joining NBC10 was the best thing I could have done. I enjoy helping the people of Philly get back and forth to work and school. Philly’s where I grew up and it's where I'd like to stay."

Ogden is active with groups such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the William Way Community Center. He is also a supporter of and a judge for both the Miss Philadelphia Scholarship Pageant and the NJ National Teen Scholarship Pageant.

In 2004, Ogden was named “Philadelphia Magazine’s Best Traffic Reporter,” as part of the “Best of Philly” campaign. He was also nominated for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year 2006 award.

Ogden is an avid movie-watcher and a huge history buff. He likes to read, act on stage, and walk his Pomeranian, Tiki. John currently resides in the Burlington County, New Jersey.
