In 1991, WCAU-TV weatherman Herb Clarke, a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia, was named PERSON OF THE YEAR by our organization. The event was hosted by Broadcast Pioneers member Larry Kane, who at that time was anchoring news at WCAU-TV.

In a spoof, Larry said that the station was involved in a nationwide search for a replacement for Herb and the winner was LES WAAS, a member of our group.

Les is well known for "pulling your leg" and this video is no exception. Put on your "laughing hat" and watch what Les told the audience back in 1991. This footage is un-cut by us. It is from raw footage shot by WCAU-TV.
