It was February 6, 1966 and KYW, the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Zoo were celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Zoo's radio program, "Let's Visit the Zoo."

Broadcast Pioneers member Franklin A. Tooke, Area Vice-President for the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company reads a tribute from the City of Philadelphia to the Philadelphia Zoological Society. The station's Public Affairs Director, Broadcast Pioneers member Jack Rattigan is to Tooke's right. Franklin Tooke was listed as the Program Director of KYW-FM in 1946. That station would later be donated to WHYY Radio.

Dr. Roger Conant, the program's host (and the Curator of Reptiles) is seen at the extreme left with Broadcast Pioneers member Ralph "Bud" Galow at the controls on the other side of the glass.

This picture was taken just less than five months after the birth of KYW Newsradio. The program went off the air in 1969.

Roger Conant retired from the Zoo in 1973 (as its director) and died at the age of 94 on December 19, 2003 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
