The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia saluted our Honorees at our annual scholarship fundraising banquet. The event was held at the Bala Golf Club in Philadelphia on Friday evening, November 18, 2005.

We honored Broadcast Pioneers member Merrill Reese, Eagles play-by-play announcer as our "Person of the Year."

This year's inductees into our "Hall of Fame" were Diane Allen, Jane Norman, Scott Palmer, Ed Sciaky, Les Waas, Georgie Woods and Bill Wright, Sr.

For those who purchased tickets, we thank you in helping us underwrite area college scholarships. Last year's banquet funded six $1,000 scholarships for area college students. Thanks again for your support!

We have complete video of the remarks that night. It is encoded as Surestream. That means that the file contains two different video streams, one for dial-up users and a clearer, sharper version for DSL and Cable users. You're computer will automatically select the correct stream. Some of the remarks roll. That is, the video is in more than one segment. For those on DSL and Cable, it should be pretty much instanteous (within a few seconds). For dial-up users, there may be a slight pause (about 15 to 30 seconds). It is encoded in this way for quicker loading on your computer.

Two of our Hall of Fame inductees were inducted posthumously. Judy Sciaky, widow of Ed Sciaky accepted on behalf of her late husband. Watch what she said!

Georgie Woods was selected for induction into our Hall of Fame and had accepted. However, in June of 2005, George passed away. Woods' youngest daughter, Devin Simms accepted on behalf of her late father. Watch what she said!

Our other inductees were all there for the induction. Watch what they said!

Our Person of the Year was Merrill Reese who was also inducted into our Hall of Fame. Watch what he said!
